Xiaomi announced the Redmi K20[1] in China, but the device hit the global markets under the Xiaomi Mi 9T[2] moniker. One exception is India where it will keep its name and will arrive mid-July, accompanied by the Redmi K20 Pro[3].
Manu Kumar Jain, the director of Xiaomi India, has just said on his Twitter that tomorrow he will reveal “something very special” and “really out of the world” with selected Mi fans.
Jain previously said we’ll see each other in three weeks at the launch of the Redmi K20 Pro, we know there are no changes to the announcement. So tomorrow we’ll likely see some of the people part of the Mi Explorers team announce the exact launch date alongside the Xiaomi executive, and we could probably see some regional features.
Another suggestion is the phone is going to be unveiled and its pricing revealed, but sales won't kick off until mid July.
The announcement of the Redmi K20 Pro is unlikely to bring us any big surprises. It was already launched in China[4] with Snapdragon 855 chipset, elevating camera and three shooters on the back.
It has a lighter sibling called Redmi K20 that shares the same footprint, but runs the Snapdragon 730 chipset and lacks the 27W fast-charging, settling for 18W.
