Indian Redmi 7A to have different camera, a Snapdragon 730 version might join it

The Redmi 7A[1] is launching in India tomorrow, and while Xiaomi India's MD Manu Jain has previously said that Indian units will get a "MASSIVE feature"[2], he hasn't divulged any details about what it will actually be. However, one of Jain's latest tweets[3] leads us to believe that this massive boost could be the Snapdragon 730 SoC replacing the Snapdragon 439 of the original version.

But, if we take a look at the Redmi 7A's event page[6] on the company's official India site, it says that Indian variant is powered by Snapdragon 439 SoC and not 730. So, could there be a Pro variant of the Redmi 7A having Snapdragon 730 SoC at the helm? Well, we will have to wait until tomorrow to see if that's the case.

That said, we did get confirmation of another change - while the original version of the Redmi 7A comes with a 13MP rear camera, the Indian unit will have it replaced by a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor. And there won't be a dual camera setup as we hoped earlier.

The rest of the specs are likely to remain same, but again, considering how Jain's touting a "massive" feature for the Indian variant that "everyone loved about the Redmi Note 7 and Mi A2"[7], we are quite curious to know what this is going to be.
