The Vivo Z1 Pro has just been announced in India, and it might be one of the most feature-packed budget phones we’ve seen in quite some time. In fact, the phone looks like it could take the fight to the likes of Realme, Samsung and Xiaomi.
Vivo’s latest budget phone starts at just 14,990 rupees (~$218), but it comes equipped with an upper mid-range Snapdragon 712 chipset, 4GB to 6GB of RAM, and 64GB to 128GB of expandable storage.
The battery figures are impressive too, as the Vivo Z1 Pro serves up a 5,000mAh battery with 18 watt fast charging. The phone features a microUSB port rather than USB-C, but do you really care with a battery this big and at this price point?
Vivo’s handset offers a triple rear camera trio, consisting of a 16MP f/1.78 main camera (IMX499), an 8MP ultra-wide snapper (120 degree field of view), and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone also offers a night mode, so hopefully low-light picture quality isn’t completely trash. Selfies are handled by a 32MP camera in a punch-hole cutout. Speaking of the punch-hole display, you’re looking at a 6.53-inch LCD screen (full HD+) with a 90.77 percent screen/body ratio.
Other Vivo Z1 Pro features worth knowing include a rear fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm port, Widevine L1 support for HD streaming, dual nano-SIM support, and Funtouch OS 9.0 atop Android Pie.
Vivo’s phone goes on sale via Flipkart from July 11 at midday, starting at 14,990 rupees (~$218) for the 4GB/64GB variant. The 6GB/64GB option is set to retail for 16,990 rupees (~$247), while the 6GB/128GB model will go on sale for 17,990 rupees (~$261). Need more details?
