Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7A[1] today in India and Madhav Sheth, CEO for the Indian Realme branch, decided to do an impromptu comparison between that and his own C2. In a series of tweets, he said the “Desh ka real choice” should be Realme C2[2] and not the Xiaomi handset.
The Realme C2 was launched for INR5,999 ($85/€76) back in April, and today the Redmi 7A got the same price tag (although it is only until the end of July). Sheth is highlighting the more powerful CPU of the C2, which has eight Cortex-A53 cores at 2 GHz, while only two of the eight cores on the Snapdragon 439's CPU are at the same speed.
Hope #realmeC2[3] gets a REAL competitor in its segment today. More power to the users!

But he didn’t plan to stop there. His next aim was the “two years old” screen and the 18:9 aspect, compared to the 19.5:9 taller aspect with a waterdrop notch. They are both LCDs of HD+ resolution, but the difference in bezel size is notable.
"Two Years Old” display? Time to get smart and leap to realme C2. #DeshKaRealChoice pic.twitter.com/mx5C3iNYer[5][6]

The third tweet from the Realme CEO was about the camera - he boasted the Realme C2 has a dual shooter with a pretty standard 13 MP f/2.2 lens, coupled with a 2 MP depth sensor. The Redmi 7A, on the other hand, has a single Sony IMX486 camera. We must point out that depth sensing and bokeh features are highly reliant on the software, so the extra module is not a guarantee for better results.
What should a real value king have? The smart shall not choose a "2 Years Old" single camera. #DeshKaRealChoice pic.twitter.com/UvNNjcZIcW[8][9]

Madhav Sheth wrapped his shade-throwing by comparing both phones side by side (remember, we can also do that[11]).
Let's have the real comparison. #SmartUserSmartComparison #DeshKaRealChoice pic.twitter.com/8ktON9SDYk[12][13][14]

As bystanders, we are having fun with brands trying to rain on each other's parade and as consumers, we have to be pleased because great products are born in competition. The fiercer the battle for the top spot is, the better for the end user.
